Pastor
Pastor Mike Doney grew up in rural Ohio and joined the U.S. Army immediately following high school. He and his wife Imelda, were saved and baptized in Baumholder, Germany in 1999. Shortly after salvation, he was called to preach. He retired from the U.S. Army in 2014, and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Biblical Studies from Patriot Bible University. The Doney family has had the opportunity to serve the Lord in various ministries, to include serving as missionaries in the Philippines. Mike and Imelda were married in 1996 and have 5 children: Christopher, Christian, Stephen, Isabella and Joshua.

I appreciate you taking the time to visit and look around at our website. I count it as an honor and privilege to be the pastor at Higher Ground. The Lord has blessed me with a wonderful wife and children and an amazing church family. I have seen God do amazing things in mine and others lives. I believe the God that did miracles in the Old Testament is still able to do miracles today, and does! I would love for you to visit and to get to know our church family. We are normal people that love the Lord and each other. I do my best to make the preaching personal, practical and challenging. I believe the Bible makes it clear that God has a plan for our lives. As a pastor, my desire is for you to know and fulfill His plan for your life. As a veteran, I have a desire to minister to the military community and their families. You will find veterans, active duty military and those not affiliated with the military in our church; all are welcome! Our church strives to be the friendliest church that you will ever visit. I hope you will come and see for yourself!
